Often the most efficient method of law enforcement is achieved by viewing a situation from above. Many police forces & Homeland Security agencies all over the world use manned helicopters both in emergency and routine operations.
Police and Law Enforcement
Presently, almost all airborne police tasks are carried out by manned helicopters equipped with visual cameras, IR sensors as well as powerful spotlights.
Major drawbacks associated with the use of these airborne units are:
- High maintenance costs
- Dependency on skilled crew
- Danger to the vehicle and crew during violent events
Steadicopter’s compact & mobile products are efficient and especially useful for every law enforcement and homeland security task. Steadicopter’s Rotary UAS advantages are suitable for covert operations as well as regular patrols all the while assisting their units from above in transmitting live video and / or other forms of ISR from the scene.
From observing suspicious objects to locating threats without endangering personal or from traffic related missions to actual enforcement the Black Eagle family of products are the perfect fit.
Search and Rescue
When hikers are lost in the forest, jungle, or any other remote location all they see around them is trees or endless vast areas in which they are absorbed in. Lack of water & food, injury & weather are all immediate risks and time critical for their survival. During search & rescue missions there is a need to cover as much of the area as rapidly as possible without missing any spot. Use of unmanned helicopters in such missions together with rescue teams may save time and lives. RUAVs can scan forests and “hard to get to” terrain with various sensors, EOIR to Wide Area Motioning, without the need to endanger additional crews. Using GIS maps to mark all the units’ locations and scanned areas, together with real time overview images significantly improves the Search & Rescue efforts.
The Black Eagle system is compact and mobile, making it extremely suitable for search & rescue efforts. The ability to lift off and land anywhere (VTOL) is a necessity in difficult terrains. The ability to hover and move in all directions (position trimming) gives the controller more time and ease to scan objects and track the required object. It is critical too in maritime S&R operations in which orientation could potentially be lost. The use of a rotary UAV with the right navigation & mission tools assure that every spot is scanned.
